FAQs

  • Studies show that autistic adults report higher rates of loneliness than their non-autistic peers. Gather & Grow Learning strives to provide inclusivity in the Savannah community, opportunities for friendship connections, and focusing on peer relationships as much as therapeutic ones. Our therapists focus on supportive learning, allowing our learners to take the driver’s seat in what interests and motivates them as we provide a framework to achieve their goals.

  • At Gather & Grow Learning, we believe whole-heartedly that everyone can advocate for themselves. Whether it’s protesting dislikes, sharing their preferences, or delaying a non-preferred task, by focusing on self-advocacy rather than compliance, we are empowering our learners with a way to let other’s know their needs.

  • At Gather & Grow Learning, we value our learner’s interests and strive to embed their goals into things that stimulate and interest them. By providing more opportunities to access their interests, rather than withholding them until work is completed, we provide them with opportunities to grow their interests further and increase learning centered around their special interests.

Special interests can be ANYTHING - a favorite season, character or color. A way of playing, singing, or moving. Preferred toys and household items. Special interest is a blanket term to describe what your learner loves most!

  • ABA is a scientific and evidence-based approach focused on teaching skills and reducing behaviors that may inhibit access to community environments. By building skills to access what behaviors may be ultimately achieving, the goal is for learner’s to still access what they want, but through an avenue that is safer for themselves and others.
